Getting Your Office On Board With Toner Recycling

Any person that works in an office should know that there are companies out there begging to do toner recycling on your behalf. That’s because it’s a great benefit for the companies, as they can reuse those cartridges and sell them again. This helps their company make a nice profit for their company while it keeps some of the many plastic cartridges out of the landfill. Their efforts on your behalf can have benefits for them as well.

It’s kind of bewildering that despite these efforts, only 25 percent of the manufactured cartridges get put back through the system through toner recycling. What that means is that over 450 million cartridges are simply thrown into dumps around the world. This is a high number considering that recycling not only helps the earth, but helps businesses as well.

The first step to stopping this problem is to make sure that your office is ready to start the effort of toner recycling. Make sure that someone is in charge of this, and either assign someone to be if there isnÕt or take it over yourself. Find a good company that will help you recycle Ð they should be giving you free mailing from your office for your cartridges or have a pickup box nearby.

The next step is to talk to the companies near you or that you work with to make sure they are also recycling their cartridges. Try to help out Ð send along the information they need to get started, suggest a true company, and give them the contact information to get them on board. YouÕll be helping the environment in your own way. If their offices seem unwilling to start, you can create a cartridge drive in your office building. Let each office know the types of cartridges you will be accepting and put a box in a central location that everyone can access. You can then send off all of the cartridges together when you have a chance, making it easy for everyone to take part.
